Be clever, play brilliant, and discover how to play craps the ideal way!
Dice and dice games goes back to the Crusades, but modern craps is just about one hundred years old. Current craps evolved from the old Anglo game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the birth of the game, but Hazard is said to have been invented by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, around the twelfth century. It is presumed that Sir William’s paladins wagered on Hazard through a siege on the fortress Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was derived from the castle’s name.
Early French colonists brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 1700s, when driven away by the English, the French headed south and settled in southern Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they departed Acadia, they brought their favored game, Hazard, with them. The Cajuns modernized the game and made it more mathematically fair. It’s said that the Cajuns changed the title to craps, which was gotten from the name of the losing throw of two in the game of Hazard, known as "crabs."
From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi riverboats and across the country. A great many consider the dice maker John H. Winn as the father of current craps. In 1907, Winn created the modern craps layout. He added the Do not Pass line so players could bet on the dice to not win. At another time, he developed the spots for Place bets and put in place the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
