My preferred people at the craps table are the true gentlemen from the good old times. These experienced gentlemen are generally patient, generally kind and will very likely always share pointers from the "great old days."
When you take the plunge and choose to join the game, make sure you use appropriate etiquette. Find a position on the rail and put your money down in front of you in the "come" spot.
